Primošten Beach & Our Lady of Loreto Private Shore Excursion

Skip the crowds — swim, climb a hill, breathe

From €458 5.0 (6 reviews)

Most cruise passengers spend their Split day fighting through the same three streets as five thousand other guests. This excursion takes the opposite approach. Fifty minutes up the coast from the port sits Primošten, a postcard of a peninsula town that looks like a miniature Dubrovnik without the entrance fee or the selfie sticks. Your private driver-guide collects you at the cruise terminal and drives you straight to Raduca Beach, a white-pebble cove with the clearest water on this stretch of coast. You swim, you float, you lie on a beach towel — and unless you are unlucky with the weather, the sea is a shade of turquoise that does not photograph honestly. After the beach you walk ten minutes into Primošten old town, a tight knot of medieval stone houses, a parish church at the tip of the peninsula, and a handful of family konobe that still serve the same grilled fish the town has been eating for five centuries. The finale is Gospa od Loreta — a hilltop sanctuary crowned with a seventeen-metre statue of the Virgin Mary overlooking a 360-degree panorama of the Adriatic, the vineyards, and the islands. It is one of the most photographed viewpoints on the Dalmatian coast, and most cruise guests will never hear it exists. You will be back at the port with salt in your hair and time to spare before boarding.

  • Raduca Beach — white pebbles and some of the clearest water in Dalmatia

  • Private driver-guide meets you dockside at Split cruise terminal

Questions about this tour

Is Primošten really a better cruise stop than staying in Split?
Different, not better. If this is your first time in Croatia you should see Diocletian's Palace. If you have been to Split before, or if you are visiting on a cruise day when three or four ships are in port, Primošten is a genuinely peaceful alternative with a beach, a medieval town, and a famous viewpoint — and you avoid fifteen thousand cruise passengers funnelled into the same four streets.
Can I actually swim during the tour?
Yes, swimming is the centrepiece. You get about 90 minutes at Raduca Beach, which is more than enough for a proper swim, sun, and dry-off. The beach has freshwater showers and a couple of cafés for drinks or a light snack.
What is Gospa od Loreta?
Gospa od Loreta, or Our Lady of Loreto, is a Catholic sanctuary on a hill at the edge of Primošten, crowned with a 17-metre bronze statue of the Virgin Mary. It is one of the largest open-air Marian sites on the Croatian coast and a panoramic viewpoint over the sea, the Primošten peninsula, and the vineyards inland.
How long does it take to drive from Split cruise port to Primošten?
About 50 minutes each way via the coastal road. The drive itself is scenic — olive groves, stone villages, and glimpses of the sea — so it feels like part of the excursion rather than a commute.
Is the price per person or per group?
It is a private booking, not a per-person ticket — the vehicle is yours alone, up to eight passengers. The price starts at €458 and rises with the number of travellers; the live booking calendar shows the exact total for your group. For larger groups we can add a second vehicle on request.
Can older or less mobile guests do this tour?
Yes. The beach is reachable by car with a short flat walk to the pebbles. The Primošten old town walk is on cobbled streets but without steep climbs, and the Loreto viewpoint has a paved access route. Let us know in the booking notes if anyone in your group has mobility needs and we will adjust the walking parts.

Best time!

We had great time in Primosten, view was really amazing, definitively worth seeing! The water is crystal clear and the old town on the little peninsula is just magical. Perfect spot to relax, swim and soak up the sun. Best tour to escape the city crowd.

Unforgettable experience!

This was a perfect tour for our family! The whole experience was well-organized, relaxing, and we got to swim a lot. The views from the viewpoint were absolutely exceptional! We couldn't have asked for a better guide than Silvio. Thank you, Silvio, for making this day so memorable!

Awesome!

Absolutely beautiful place, we had so much fun, kids loved it. Silvio was professional and flexible, we are a bit of punctual freaks, so we were a bit early for our pick up, but he was already there and ready to go, so we even had more time than usual on our excursion. Five stars!
