Krka Waterfalls & Trogir Private Shore Excursion

Waterfalls in the morning, medieval alleys after lunch

€500 per private group (up to 8) 5.0

The single best day you can have off a cruise ship in Split is the one that mixes water and stone — Krka National Park in the morning, Trogir in the afternoon. Your private driver-guide collects you at the Split cruise terminal and drives you north through the Dalmatian interior to the park entrance at Lozovac. From there a park shuttle takes you down into the valley, where you walk the wooden boardwalks above Skradinski Buk — the main waterfall complex, a cascade of limestone pools and rushing green water that looks almost too saturated to be real. You get about two hours to walk, photograph, and in summer take a swim in the designated bathing area below the falls. The drive back south brings you to Trogir, a UNESCO-listed medieval island town of Venetian palaces, narrow stone alleys, and the Cathedral of St. Lawrence with its extraordinary 13th-century Radovan Portal. Your guide gives you a short walking tour of the old town, then a little free time for lunch on the waterfront or a coffee in the main square before driving you back to the ship. Two completely different worlds — a national park of turquoise water and a medieval island town — in a single afternoon on the coast.

Questions about this tour

Is the Krka park entrance fee included?
No. Entrance is paid at the gate because the fee varies by season and the national park administration runs the pricing, not us. In summer it is roughly €30–€40 per adult; in shoulder season it drops. Your guide tells you the exact price on the day and can advance the tickets if you prefer.
Can I actually swim at Krka?
Swimming is allowed at a designated bathing area near Skradinski Buk during the summer season, typically June to September. Outside those months swimming is not permitted. If swimming matters, pick a summer cruise date and bring a swimsuit.
How does this compare to Plitvice Lakes?
Plitvice is bigger, further north, and takes a full day from Split — it doesn't fit a cruise schedule. Krka is closer, more compact, and has the one thing Plitvice doesn't: you are actually allowed to swim. For a cruise day this is the waterfall choice that works.
Will I make it back to my cruise ship on time?
Yes. The 6-hour itinerary is deliberately built around Split port call times with a buffer before all-aboard. Your guide monitors the schedule and adjusts the pace if anything in the park runs long.
Is this tour good for families with kids?
Very good. The park boardwalks are flat, wide, and safe for children. Swimming in summer is usually a highlight for kids. Trogir is compact and walkable. The only downside is the total day length — six hours is long for very young children, so a nap in the van on the drive back is normal.
What happens in bad weather?
Krka is outdoors but entirely walkable in rain — the boardwalks have drainage and the forest canopy offers cover. Trogir's alleys and cathedral provide shelter. We run the tour in all weather except extreme storms. If the park closes due to flooding we swap in an alternative — usually Split and Trogir together, with a partial refund.
